~American/European movies/tv series I have watched in 2018:
1. Ladybird --- now one of my all-time favorites
2. The Square --- 2017 film from Sweden; Interesting take on the arts, poverty, empathy, inequality.
3. To all the boys I've loved before --- watchable enough but this movie is really for teens; too cheesy for adults (at least for me)
4. Grand Budapest Hotel --- love the style
5. Monty Python and the Holy Grail --- 1975 film; I will surely watch their other films
6. The Crimes of Grindelwald (Fantastic Beasts 2)
7. Roma
8. The Ballad of Buster Sruggs
*Gay-themed/with gay characters: (watched in 2018)
1. Beautiful Thing --- 1996 British film; it is on lgbt movie lists; I love the ending so much (it surprised me)
2. The Way He Looks --- 2014 film from Brazil; coming of age, such a lovely film; it is based on the 2010 short film 'I don't want to go back alone' which I also like so much
3. God's Own Country --- 2017 British film; won indie and lgbtq movie awards; must-watch
4. Plan B --- 2009 film from Argentina; cute love story; well for me it is cute and sweet
5. Jongens (Boys) --- 2014 film from Netherlands; coming-of-age; must-watch for gay teens (and the not gays teens); it is nice to know that this was first shown on TV, films like this needs to be accessible to many audiences
6. Being 17 --- 2016 French film. Nicely done coming of age movie
7. Esteros --- 2016 film from Argentina; backdrop is so beautiful; so romantic (edit. I love the song that was used; this just became one of my favorite films, Plan B too huhu)
8. Screwed --- 2017 film from Finland; coming of age; angsty
9. Hawaii --- 2013 film from Argentina; Plan B and this have the same director-writer (Marco Berger) so there are similarities. it is a nice watch and I hope Berger will still write and direct movies like these
10. Harvest --- 2011 film from Germany; I like it even if most of it seems like a semi-documentary film in an agricultural school
11. Paris 05:59 : Theo and Hugo --- 2016 film from France. interesting love story
12. Hidden Kisses --- 2016 TV Film from France; school bullies and homophobia in a small town in France; it is so sad that that something like this still happens
13. Love, Simon --- I like the book better; however the movie is hilarious, style of how it was presented is really good (esp. who Simon thinks is Blue), acting is very good too
14. Four Moons --- 2014 Mexican film; four stories; I liked how it progressed; the story with the pair of univ. students is so cute and universally relatable
15. Seashore --- 2014 Brazil film; too short
16. Summer Storm --- 2004 German film; nice youth-oriented movie; funny and watchable
17. Tremulo --- 2015 Mexican SHORT FILM; I am hoping that there will be part two
18. A Escondidas --- 2014 film from Spain; tackles some serious societal issues; I like it
19. In the greyscale --- 2015 film from Chile; realistic? I want a sequel :(
20. Taekwondo --- 2016 film from Argentina; third full-length I've watched from Marco Berger. Too many men; I wanted more screen time for the two main characters and their development throughout the movie should have been shared more to the audience
21. Turn it around --- 2017 SHORT FILM from Netherlands; cute for a 9 minute short film lol
22. You are not alone --- 1978 film from Denmark; classic coming of age; I was really surprised that there is a film like this back then; and that the director said that the film probably cannot be made nowadays because of self-censureship. Interesting, right? Watch it.
23. Rubens Place
24. The Falls --- 2012 film from U.S. This is the first of a trilogy! I will watch the two movies later
25. The Falls: Covenant of Grace --- 2016; third movie of the trilogy. I skipped the second one lol, will probably watch later; the ending is not a reality now, right? It is what the movie writers (and us) hope to happen in the future, right?
26. Tom of Finland --- 2017 film
